Check a school's bloodborne pathogens exposure control plan for missing required elements

Takes the section list and text of a district's existing written Exposure Control Plan (job classifications and procedures only; no employee names, vaccination records or exposure incident records) and drafts a gap list against 29 CFR 1910.1030(c). The plan must contain at least: the exposure determination, listing job classifications where all employees have occupational exposure, classifications where some do, and the tasks and procedures involved; the schedule and method of implementation for methods of compliance, hepatitis B vaccination and post-exposure follow-up, communication of hazards to employees, and recordkeeping; and the procedure for evaluating the circumstances of exposure incidents. It also checks that the plan is accessible to employees, reviewed and updated at least annually and when tasks or positions change, documents annual consideration of safer medical devices, and documents input from non-managerial frontline employees on sharps controls. Each item is marked found, not found or needs review.

Human in the loop: The health services coordinator or safety officer reviews the gap list and owns the plan. The workflow does not make exposure determinations, handle any incident or give medical advice. Limits: Whether a given school employer is covered by federal OSHA or a state plan varies, and state plans can add requirements; the reviewer must confirm coverage locally. Inputs exclude all employee medical and incident records. Not legal or medical advice. Methodology 1.0: Strong candidate for replay.
